An Excerpt from The Traveler’s Gift

I’ve been reading The Traveler’s Gift lately and there are a few excerpts that I would like to recite to all of you.  They really touched a part of me and I would like to pass them on to all of you!  I highly recommend reading the book, but here goes number one.

“The First Decision for Success – The buck stops here.

From this moment forward, I will accept responsibility for my past.  I understand that the beginning of wisdom is to accept the responsibility for my own problems and that by accepting responsibility for my past, I free myself to move into a bigger, brighter future of my own choosing.

Never again will I blame my parents, my spouse, my boss, or other employees for my present situation.  Neither my education nor lack of one, my genetics, or the circumstantial ebb and flow of everyday life will affect my future in a negative way.  If I allow myself to blame these uncontrollable forces for my lack of success, I will be forever caught in a web of the past.  I will look forward.  I will not let my history control my destiny.

The buck stops here.  I accept responsibility for my past.  I am responsible for my success.

I am where I am am today-mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially-because of decisions I have made.  My decisions have always been governed by my thinking.  Therefore, I am where I am today-mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially- because of how I think.  Today I will begin the process of changing where I am-mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially- by changing the way I think.

My thoughts will be constructive, never destructive.  My mind will live in the solutions of the future.  It will not dwell in the problems of the past.  I will seek the association of those who are working and striving to bring about positive changes in the world.  I will never seek comfort by associating with those who have decided to be comfortable.

When faced with the opportunity to make a decision.  I will make one.  I understand that God did not put in me the ability to always make right decisions.  He did, however, put in me the ability to make a decision and then make it right.  The rise and fall of my emotional tide will not deter me from my course.  When I make a decision, I will stand behind it.  My energy will go into making the decision.  I will waste none on second thoughts.  My life will not be an apology.  It will be a statement.

The buck stops here.  I control my thoughts.  I control my emotions.

In the future when I am tempted to ask the question “Why me?”  I will immediately counter with the answer: “Why not me?”  Challenges are gifts, opportunities to learn.  Problems are the common thread running through the lives of great men and women.  In times of adversity, I will not have a problem to deal with; I will have a choice to make.  My thoughts will be clear.  I will make the right choice.  Adversity is preparation for greatness.  I will accept this preparation.  Why me?  Why not me?  I will be prepared for something great!

I accept responsibility for my past.  I control my thoughts.  I control my emotions.  I am responsible for my success.

The buck stops here.”

Hope this excerpt touches something in you!  It did in me!  Have a great week!

Showing Up

I have read about the importance of showing up in multiple books & articles. This weekend has proven the importance one more time, for not only me, but my business associates as well.

So many times people have the simple choice to either go to something or not. I say simple because it really is as simple as committing to going & planning accordingly. It’s also just as easy to say something has come up.

Over the course of 6 years I have consistently showed up for three events each year held by my company. This is the number one reason my business has been successful. No I’m not at the point I wish to be, but being a stay at home mom is a pretty good goal to have reached.

So I’m going to keep this short, when you have access to events that you know you should attend, do what the top 5% of income earners in this country have done, and show up!

To your success!

Allergy season is coming!

So it’s been a while since I last posted, but wanted to get a few testimonials out for allergies. Here in Wisconsin the buds are just starting to pop on the trees, since it’s the first day of spring many people are dreading the upcoming allergy season! OPC3 to the rescue! OPC3 is an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory and antihistamine helping people find relief from allergies among many other ailments! So here is what others are saying about it:

My husband is a health enthusiast and was toughing out his allergies when my consultant had mentioned to use OPC3. He loves the results. this is the first time in years he hasn’t had to deal with his allergies. My son-in-law just tried it and he forgot he had to take medication for it. He also is a health enthusiast and loves this product…

My niece had tried many OTC remedies for her allergies. One day I suggested that I had a product that I thought she would greatly benefit from. Long story short, she decided to give it a try. In three days, taking three caps a day, she felt great! The natural relief is the best relief!

I suffered from seasonal allergies for the longest time. I was on so many medications and I would go twice a week for shots. I started taking OPC3 3 1/2 years ago and have been of all meds, and no more shots. Through the spring I do up my dose to 2 caps for 2 months.

Best of all, OPC3 has no negative side effects that over the counter or prescription allergy medication can have. If you are looking for more information or where to find OPC3, please comment below!

Happy Spring Everyone!

A One-Two Punch to Fight Fat

Looking at the upcoming holiday season, and looking to lose my baby weight after Thanksgiving, I thought I would post about two plant extracts working in tandem to help our bodies burn fat for energy. Isn’t everyone looking for something like this?
This article is done by Dr. Roger Spahr, specializing in Health, Wellness and Fitness

“Plant extracts are the key to many of today’s best nutritional products. For weight loss, two such extracts are getting a lot of attention for their ability to regulate blood-sugar levels and help your body use fat for energy instead of sugar – all without the stimulant effects seen with many weight-loss supplements.

Svetol Green Coffee Extract (400 MG Daily)
You may have heard how green tea can help promote weight loss, but clinical research is showing that extracts of green coffee beans may also be effective by reducing the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. Green coffee beans refer to either immature beans or mature beans that haven’t been roasted. Svetol is made from decaffeinated, unroasted mature Robusta beans.
Glucose is the body’s first choice as an energy source. Fat isn’t tapped until glucose (and glycogen, which the body converts into sugar) is depleted. Green coffee bean extracts rich in chlorogenic acids can reduce blood-sugar levels by inhibiting an enzyme that produces glucose. The extract also inhibits absorption of sugar by your intestines. Together, these mechanisms reduce the amount of glucose in your bloodstream that may end up as stored fat. In one study , supplementation with Svetol significantly decreased blood sugar after eating. Additionally, after 40 days on the study, participants lost weight without changing their diet and exercise habits.
Eight published clinical studies support Svetol – the most of any brand of green coffee bean extract currently on the market. Developed by a French plant-extract firm brought to the U.S. in 2008, Svetol is standardized to contain no less than 45 percent chlorogenic acid, and has been shown to be superior as a weight-management aid when compared to competing green coffee bean products.
A significant advantage to Svetol is its extraction from decaffeinated beans. This means you get the benefits of chlorogenic acid without the potential side effects of too much caffeine.

Garcinia Cambogia (1500 MG, 60% HCA, Daily)
Garcinia Cambogia is a small fruit from southern India. Its active component for weight loss is hydroxycitric acid (HCA).
HCA helps inhibit ATP-citrate lyase, an enzyme that your body uses to convert glucose into glycogen. (This enzyme also facilitates the synthesis the body’s fatty acids, cholesterol and triglycerides.) Glycogen, stored primarily in your muscles and liver, gets converted back into glucose for energy use. Reduced conversion of blood sugar into glycogen means the body must turn more quickly to its fat stores for energy. And as noted in a study abstract published in the U.S. government’s National Center for Biotechnology Information , HCA also increases serotonin availability. This in turn can help reduce food cravings, which may be of particular importance in helping to control emotional overeating.
That study also notes both increased fat burning and improvement in blood lipid profile associated with HCA. And HCA does not stimulate the central nervous system, making it a good complement to Svetol as fat-fighting supplementation without jitters and gastrointestinal upset.
Used in combination, these two extracts can be an effective tool as you build an overall weight loss strategy.”

Keep Moving Forward

Take the step. Tip toe if you must but take the step.

So many people are stuck in their daily lives, always complaining, and hoping things will get better but never do anything about it! Well now is the time to change!

Quit talking about how things are and enabling the past, because that will keep you standing still. That internal conversation is the easiest way to keep reliving the past and living that same experience in your future over and over. Almost like the movie Groundhog Day. The same awful day over and over. The same disappointments, same boyfriend, health challenges, over and over. If you want to change where you’ve been, change the story you tell now.

Make a list of the new you! The new life. The new health. Make a list of what you would like to accomplish. Make a list of your perfect day, your dream life. Read it every day, feel the feelings of having it now. Get emotionally invested in how you would feel as if it were actually happening in the present.

And don’t sweat the small stuff. Do the big things first. Talk about where you are going. Talk about how good you will feel once you get there. Talk about how good you feel NOW. When your present feels like you want it to be, in the future, it most certainly is on it’s way to becoming part of your experience. Don’t forget to surround yourself with people who bring you joy and believe in your vision because a negative environment can be like glue on your shoes as you try to walk.

If you are not happy in your now, just move, take a step, tip toe if you must, but don’t stand still.

Struggling America

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of people talk about their financial struggles, and then this came through my email. A blog from my CEO speaking about the growing debt problem in America. I think he puts it best, so I’m relaying this information to you!

“In case you didn’t already know, America has a serious debt problem. I’m not talking about our nations’ deficit, rather – the number of American’s who are struggling to get by with massive amounts of personal debt. In fact, I just came across a fascinating article on CNN Money showing that a staggering 77 million Americans are in some form of debt collections. To me, what makes this number so significant is the fact that it shows the number of Americans who are really struggling with the burden of debt – so much so that they’ve gotten behind in their payments.

Most of us carry debt in one form or another, whether it’s your mortgage, student loans, or credit card debt – but the fact that 77 million Americans are in debt collections really paints a grim picture for the state of the economy. To put that number into perspective – 77 million people is approximately 1/3 of U.S. adults! Maybe’s it’s time for them to join us and help forge a new economy where we leverage our people power and our buying power to convert spending into earning!

During a time where many people are struggling to get by, UnFranchise Owners have been able to capitalize on the social shopping revolution and build a substantial ongoing income. In fact, UnFranchise Owners have earned over $3.1 BILLION dollars by leveraging our proven business system. If you’re interested in building residual income instead of debt, you need to become and UnFranchise Owner! Visit http://www.MarketAmerica.com today to learn how to start!

Becoming a Mom

The realization of becoming a mom!
baby pic
As of yesterday I am officially 25 weeks into my pregnancy, my pic was from last week, only 15 weeks to go. I can’t help to first be so very thankful for this little blessing! As my husband and I were watching the little baby kicks and punches of baby on my belly yesterday, it’s just an awe inspiring moment that you are solely responsible for this little baby!

As I’m starting to register for my baby showers and creating the nursery, it’s a bit overwhelming to think about all the different ways our lives are going to change! I’ve been blessed with a healthy and easy pregnancy thus far, and am truly looking forward to the next step! Overwhelming as it is, I’ve found relief in looking and asking God for strength and direction. Just when I tears are starting to roll down my face, I think that God has not given me anything in my life that I can’t handle, and this baby is no exception! Travis and I couldn’t be happier that at this time in our lives, a new little life is going to be given to us! Thank you God!

Where have you mom’s out there found relief when doubt and anxiety cloud your mind?

5 Reasons to Take a Vacation

It’s summer! Vacation time! My next vacation I’m looking forward to is the long July 4th weekend. Not only are we celebrating Independence Day, but also my brother’s wedding!
But if you are looking for a reason to take a vacation here are five:

1. Relieves Stress – The very first benefit of leaving everything behind and relieving your brain of all your worries is reduced stress.
Several studies have shown a direct link between stress and health conditions such as headaches, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and other types of infections acquired as a result of a weaker immune system. It has also been scientifically established that taking vacations reduces the incidence of burnout.
Relief from stress often gives us a new perspective on life, allows us to regain energy and often to find simple and sometimes obvious solutions to problems that had previously seemed impossible to solve.

2. Improve your mental skills
Some studies have found a positive relationship between vacations and logical thinking. A well-rested mind that is free of worry is often more effective.

3. Improve your physical health
Besides getting you away from daily stressors, a vacation often gives you the opportunity to catch up on sleep and exercise, two simple remedies for many aches and pains.

4. Strengthen family ties
Too often, in our fast-paced daily routine, family relationships suffer. A vacation is a great opportunity to discover each other in a different setting and to build lasting memories.

5. Enjoy life
Taking time off can be a great opportunity to meet new people, laugh and do the things that you most enjoy!

So start planning that next vacation! Get out of the rut and enjoy a few days just to yourself!
