Becoming a Mom

The realization of becoming a mom!
baby pic
As of yesterday I am officially 25 weeks into my pregnancy, my pic was from last week, only 15 weeks to go. I can’t help to first be so very thankful for this little blessing! As my husband and I were watching the little baby kicks and punches of baby on my belly yesterday, it’s just an awe inspiring moment that you are solely responsible for this little baby!

As I’m starting to register for my baby showers and creating the nursery, it’s a bit overwhelming to think about all the different ways our lives are going to change! I’ve been blessed with a healthy and easy pregnancy thus far, and am truly looking forward to the next step! Overwhelming as it is, I’ve found relief in looking and asking God for strength and direction. Just when I tears are starting to roll down my face, I think that God has not given me anything in my life that I can’t handle, and this baby is no exception! Travis and I couldn’t be happier that at this time in our lives, a new little life is going to be given to us! Thank you God!

Where have you mom’s out there found relief when doubt and anxiety cloud your mind?

5 Reasons to Take a Vacation

It’s summer! Vacation time! My next vacation I’m looking forward to is the long July 4th weekend. Not only are we celebrating Independence Day, but also my brother’s wedding!
But if you are looking for a reason to take a vacation here are five:

1. Relieves Stress – The very first benefit of leaving everything behind and relieving your brain of all your worries is reduced stress.
Several studies have shown a direct link between stress and health conditions such as headaches, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and other types of infections acquired as a result of a weaker immune system. It has also been scientifically established that taking vacations reduces the incidence of burnout.
Relief from stress often gives us a new perspective on life, allows us to regain energy and often to find simple and sometimes obvious solutions to problems that had previously seemed impossible to solve.

2. Improve your mental skills
Some studies have found a positive relationship between vacations and logical thinking. A well-rested mind that is free of worry is often more effective.

3. Improve your physical health
Besides getting you away from daily stressors, a vacation often gives you the opportunity to catch up on sleep and exercise, two simple remedies for many aches and pains.

4. Strengthen family ties
Too often, in our fast-paced daily routine, family relationships suffer. A vacation is a great opportunity to discover each other in a different setting and to build lasting memories.

5. Enjoy life
Taking time off can be a great opportunity to meet new people, laugh and do the things that you most enjoy!

So start planning that next vacation! Get out of the rut and enjoy a few days just to yourself!

4 Things to Let Go Of

Most people have it wrong; most folks think that by gathering more stuff, they’ll finally find happiness. But often, you can find true happiness RIGHT NOW, in this moment, simply by letting go.

Here are 4 things that you can let go of that will make you a happier, more peaceful person.

1) Let go of the need to impress others.

If you’re a human being, chances are you care about what other people think of you. After all – we are naturally social creatures! But if you find yourself spending too much of your time or energy trying to impress other people and get their approval, you’re not being true to YOU.

There’s no need to try and be something you’re not, because who you are right now is who God wants you to be. He created your individuality so focus instead on living the most authentic version of yourself.

When you fully embrace who you are and share it with others, you’ll find that people will appreciate how REAL you are and will flock to you effortlessly.

2) Let go of the need to be right.

Sometimes when we feel we’ve been mistreated or misunderstood by someone, we can get caught up into wanting that person to admit they’ve wronged us. And we want an apology! Or at least acknowledgement that we are right and they’re wrong.

The problem is that not all human beings see things from the same perspective. In your world, you’re right but in their world, so are they. There are definitely times where an apology is necessary. But most other times, rather than allowing feelings of negativity to take root inside you and start spilling over into other areas of your life, it may be best to ask yourself this:

“Do I want to be right? Or do I want to be happy?”

Often it’s just our ego that keeps us holding on to past resentments and upsets. Instead, consider letting go of the desire to be right and you’ll find you’ll instantly restore happiness and contentment in your life.

3) Let go of the desire to gossip.

I’ve heard it said that gossip is just a cheap way to make yourself feel good, and I have to agree. We all know that gossiping about other people is wrong. But when the people around you are doing it, it can be easy to slip into doing it, too!

Consider though that the quality of your life depends on the quality of the conversations you have. If you want to live a more fulfilling life, start by embracing the power of your word. Your voice is powerful! And what you have to say makes a difference.

Be committed to having more positive conversations about things that matter, not people, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll brighten your outlook on life.

4) Let go of the past.

Looking to the past can feel safe, we know what has happened and we know what we could do to change things, if only we had the chance. The truth is, though, that you never will have the chance to change the past.

Your past has served its purpose – it’s brought you to the place you are today and made you the person you are now. And who you are right now is absolutely perfect. Be grateful for your experiences, and do your best to enjoy each moment. Give yourself the gift of being present!

Testimonial Tuesday – Baby Soothing Ointment, for adults too!

Good Tuesday evening! Here’s another Testimonial Tuesday post for you! As some of you may know, Travis, my husband and I are expecting our first baby, so naturally I’ve been researching baby products! One that kept coming up is a product called DNA Miracles Natural Soothing Ointment. DNA Miracles Natural Soothing Ointment is a nontoxic formula strong enough to soothe and yet gentle enough for the softest skin. Using natural ingredients like willow herb, shea butter and coconut oil, this ointment protects sensitive skin while locking in much-needed moisture. DNA Miracles Natural Soothing Ointment helps keep your baby’s skin healthy and hydrated while providing soothing comfort.

So as promised here are some testimonials:
By Rennisance woman from West Bend, WI. About Me: Parent of Two or More Children
“Shared this product with a friend for her 4 year old daughter who had dry skin from eczema. Her skin was softer than ever and the ointment did not ‘sting’. Used on the heels of my feet after a pedicure to soften and make them baby smooth. Also works on very dry hands…even construction workers!”

By SJRED, from South Jersey. About Me: Grandparent
“Worked quickly to heal the chapped hands of our 7 year old granddaughter. Nothing else worked up to that point. The redness and burning were gone in just a few days. Amazing!”

By JenniferC, from USA.
“Works so well. My son’s skin is baby smooth again, not the dry cracked skin we usually see in the winter. I use it on myself as well, great product!”

So needless to say I’m going to order some. Not only for when the baby gets here, but for my growing belly! That coconut oil will hopefully save me from getting those pesky stretch marks!

Great Value – Getting great results from our salon clients!! They are loving the fact that this is a 2 in 1 product and helps them reduce hair loss.

By LisaM from USA
Its Helped my Husband – My husband, at age 51, has a bit of a receding hairline which started to look thin on the sides, now after using Fixx Thick daily for 3 months I see a big difference. His hair is thicker. I knew he liked it when the cap was off so he could use every last drop in the pump dispenser bottle!

By Catherine MW from USA
I have baby fine hair and it is starting to thin. I have been using this product for several months and it really seems to help pump up the volume. I love that it is a one step shampoo and conditioner. It is also quite economical for my short hair. Two pumps dispenses more than enough. My only complaint is that, after a couple of weeks use, the pump started to stick and I have to pull it up in order to dispense the full amount. Otherwise, a great product.
