Living in southeastern Wisconsin, the next 5 days call for cool weather and rain! So if you’re like me and your mood often depends on the weather, here are a few pick me ups on those dreary days!
Get your butt to the gym, or dodge raindrops outside with an umbrella! “A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help. You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.” -Mayo Clinic Staff
If you’re lucky enough to take a quick nap, do it! Napping increases relaxation, reduces fatigue, increases alertness, improves your mood, and improves performance, including quicker reaction time, better memory, less confusion, and fewer accidents and mistakes!
- Online Shopping
Going off my last post, the perfect time to cuddle up with a blanket, some hot cocoa and your laptop is during a dreary day! Way better than driving from store to store and dragging bags around in the rain. And let’s face it, those other shoppers aren’t going to be too friendly either stay at home with your ever-loving pets and shop at all your favorite stores from the comfort of your couch, or bed!
- Bake Cookies
I’ve never been too excited about cooking or baking, but what better way to warm up that damp house than baking cookies! Nothing cures rainy day blues like a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies or any of your other favorites. Dunk them in milk or eat ’em (practically) right out of the oven—a surefire way to happily weather the storm.
- Have a Movie Marathon
Haven’t been able to catch up on your favorite sitcoms or watched your favorite movies in years? Take some time for yourself to relax with what you like best! My personal favorite, FRIENDS; I have all 10 seasons on DVD, the perfect way to laugh the afternoon away!
